Maia Melikidze

Maia Melikidze is the Executive Director of the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA). From 2020to 2024, she served as Chair of the Energy Regulators Regional Association(ERRA), and from 2023 to 2025, she has held the position of Vice-Chair of the International Confederation of Energy Regulators (ICER).

Between2017 and 2023, Ms. Melikidze was a member of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC). Prior to that, she served as Economic Advisor to the President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili. She also brings 13 years of private sector experience, having worked with the international audit firm Ernst & Young, as well as JSC Bank of Georgia and JSC Liberty Bank.

Ms. Melikidze is an Associate Professor at the Business and Technology University and a graduate of Harvard University’s Global Strategic Management program. In 2021, she earned her Doctorate in Business Administration, with her dissertation focusing on the application of renewable energy—specifically solar power—in business. She is the author of numerous publications covering topics such as renewable energy generation and utilization, and the integration of solar power into Georgia’s energy landscape.

She is also the founder of the ResLab, which conducts legal and economic assessments of renewable energy production in Georgia.
